2018 Mazda3 Review
The Mazda3 has a reputation for sharp looks, a classy interior and superior performance, rewarded as one of 2017’s 10Best Cars. This car has always been practical, comfortable and stylish, and the 2018 Mazda3 is no different.
If you’re looking for a 2018 Mazda3 in the Doral, Miami, Hialeah or Kendall areas, learn more about the Mazda3’s unique perks and features with this in-depth review.
PERFORMANCE
The Mazda3 is a practical, everyday vehicle that can handle the winding roads with ease, as well as offering a smooth ride and exciting quickness. With light controls and handling, it’s a fun and playful drive for around town, backed up by easily modulated brakes for stopping power.
The Sport base model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with a 184-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder for its Touring, though neither are short on performance. They both offer the sporty vibe drivers are looking for.
EXTERIOR
The updated Mazda3 brought some athleticism to its appearance, especially for the hatchback edition. A lot of the 2017 style remains, though new dark-colored wheel designs add to the look for the Touring. It’s neither overdone nor underwhelming, which creates a nice profile that’s sure to catch the eye.
INTERIOR
The 2018 interior has some tricks up its sleeve. Illuminated vanity mirrors and overhead storage now come standard, and the cabin size has increased to be closer to its competitors. There’s ample legroom and headroom with an overall comfort throughout.
For the Grand Touring top trim, leather seating with contrast stitching, metallic accents and an impressive gauge cluster create a luxurious look. More comfort comes from optional heating for the seats and steering wheel while the material quality for many aspects of the interior is nicer. Mazda also considered the driver visibility, and adapted the architecture for expansive rear vision and fewer blind spots.
INFOTAINMENT
The Mazda3 features the MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system, which is intuitive and highly manageable. A 7.0-inch touchscreen is standard, as well as a central rotary controller on the console for greater driver control. Other offerings include AUX input, Bluetooth audio, Bluetooth phone, USB and voice command, with an optional navigation system.
SAFETY
Despite a modest selection of active safety features, the Mazda3 attained the IIHS’s Top Safety Pick+ for 2017. In 2018, it has included some additional safety features. Automated emergency braking is standard, and the i-ACTIVSENSE® suite includes lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlamps, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and rear cross-traffic monitoring are available in the Grand Touring package.
