Looking to get the stylish Mazda6 to ride in around Doral, Miami, Hialeah, and Kendall, but unsure which exact trim level has what you need? At Ocean Mazda, we made this review to detail the various Mazda6 configurations and what you will find in each of its trim levels.
The Various Mazda6 Configurations
The Mazda6 is available in five different trim levels. There is the base level Sport, the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature. Each model shares some similar features and specs, while also featuring different standard amenities and technology.
Here are some of the features we wanted to showcase within each trim level to give you a better idea of the differences between them.
The Mazda6 Sport is powered by the 2.5L SKYACTIV®-G 4-cylinder engine that outputs 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. It is also the only trim level that has the six-speed manual transmission. It does have the option for the SKYACTIV® Drive six-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode that is found in all the other trims.
For your comfort, you will enjoy the dual-zone automatic climate control along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector.
When it comes to your safety, there are a handful of assistive technologies standard in the Sport including:
- Blind Spot Monitoring System
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Smart City Brake Support
On top of that, the Hill Launch Assist will help you confidently navigate steep hills and the Rearview Camera provides a great view of your surroundings when backing up.
The technology in the Mazda3 Sport also gives you plenty of ways to stay entertained with Bluetooth® technology and the MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System.
The cloth seats of the Sport get replaced with leatherette-trimmed sport seats. For added comfort, the Touring also has heated front seats and a six-way power driver’s seat with manual lumbar support.
Even more advanced safety features are found in the Mazda6 Touring with High Beam Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Brake Support Collision Warning, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go. The Smart City Brake Support also gets any upgrade to the Advanced Smart City Brake Support.
Mazda6 Grand Touring
The Grand Touring gets a boost in power with the 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo 4-cylinder engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
You will also get a few additional changes when it comes to your entertainment. The Grand Touring comes with a four month trial of SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and also swaps out the six-speaker audio system for the Bose® Centerpoint® 2 Surround Sound audio system that has AudioPilot® 2 and 11 speakers.
You also will be able to get up-to-the-minute directions with the Mazda Navigation System that is included in the Mazda6 Grand Touring.
Mazda6 Grand Touring Reserve
The level of luxury is expanded upon in the Grand Touring Reserve. The heated seats aren’t just for the front passengers anymore with heated rear seats included in this trim. And in the front, you will enjoy the ventilated front seats during warmer weather.
The sport seats within the Mazda6 Grand Touring Reserve are leather-trimmed and have an eight-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support and a six-way power front passenger seat.
There is also an added innovative safety feature in the Grand Touring Reserve with the Active Driving Display with Traffic Sign Recognition.
The attention to each detail with the interior design of the Mazda6 Signature makes it an exceptionally sophisticated vehicle. This sophistication is seen with the Nappa leather-trimmed sport seats, Sen Wood door and dashboard trim inserts, and leather-wrapped heated steering wheel with unique stitching and paddle shifters.
To see your entire surroundings, the Mazda6 Signature has a 360-degree View Monitor, and it will aid you in safely getting in and out of parking spots with its front and rear parking sensors.
