What’s Under the Hood?

When looking at the available engine bays of the Mazda CX-5, you’ll find plenty of pop to go along with some astute driving dynamics like able handling and a silky-smooth transmission.

The base option is an athletic 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder that makes 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The pairing for this motor is a SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift and Sport Mode.

Alternatively, you could instead opt for the 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo 4-cylinder that makes a hearty 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This motor shares the same SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission as you’ll find in the previous motor. Manual shift and Sport Mode are also included.

Interior Dimensions: Cargo Space & Passenger Volume

When looking at the cabin of the Mazda CX-5, you’ll find an abundance of space whether you want to fill up the SUV with kids or fold down the second row seats for storage.

The legroom measures a generous 41 inches in the front row and 39.6 inches in the second row. The hip room is also spacious, checking in at 55.2 inches up front and 55.3 inches in the back.

As for cargo, there’s 30.9 cubic feet of room behind the second row seats. If you happen to fold these seats flat, you’ll create a total of 59.6 cubic feet of available cargo room.

Five Distinct Trim Levels

To help you customize your SUV to reflect your unique styles while also catering to daily needs, the Mazda CX-5 sports five distinct trim levels.

To start, there’s the Sport trim which comes with standard features such as Push Button Start capabilities, a 6-way manual adjustable driver seat, 7-inch full color touch screen display, and the MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system.

Next up is the Touring trim which boasts exterior benefits such as rear privacy glass, daytime running lights, and dual exhaust outlets with bright finish.

The Grand Touring, which follows the Touring trim level, outfits your Mazda CX-5 with numerous safety and driver assistance technology like Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Smart Brake Support, and Advanced Smart City Brake Support with pedestrian detection.

The fourth option is the dynamic Grand Touring Reserve which implements a host of goodies like a body-colored rear roof spoiler and LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights, and combination taillights.

Lastly, we arrive at the Mazda CX-5 Signature which sports a 7-inch LCD multi-information display as well as an inclusive Bose® 10-speaker audio sound system with Centerpoint®2 and AudioPilot®2.
