The 2022 Outback also has an available 2.4L turbocharged engine, which maximizes its output with 277 lb-ft of torque. Still, if you need even more power, the available Skyactiv^®-G 2.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine in the 2022 Mazda CX-5 generates 310 lb-ft of torque.

Both features come standard in the 2022 Mazda CX-5, while an upgrade in trim levels is required for you to get them in the 2022 Outback. There are also other technology features found in the Mazda SUV that the Outback doesn’t offer.

For instance, it has an available head-up display. This will give you all the vital information you need to know while driving—like your speed, warning systems, and route guidance—right in your line of sight. By projecting this information on your windshield, you can stay aware of your current driving stats while also keeping your eyes on the road.

Without this system in the Outback, you’ll need to glance away from the road to check key driving information.

Both the Mazda CX-5 and Outback are compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Yet, while the Outback comes standard with a 7-inch Multimedia display for tapping into your entertainment, the Mazda CX-5 comes standard with a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The Mazda SUV display has a rotary controller but can also be conveniently controlled with your voice or buttons on the steering wheel.

Additionally, it comes standard with Mazda Connected Services. This includes a host of connectivity options that allow you to remotely access your vehicle with your smartphone.

Similarly, the Subaru Outback has SUBARU STARLINK^® Safety and Security. However, this does not come standard, so you will need to upgrade to a higher trim level to enjoy this benefit.
