Pumpkin Patch

We may not actually get any chilly fall weather, and the leaves on Florida’s palms don’t turn red and orange come October, but I think it’s safe to say that we can all get excited about pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin carving, right? If you’re looking for fall activities near Doral, FL, here’s a list of our top favorites.

October 21 & 22, 2017

This fun festival is perfect for the whole family, offering tons of activities that the little ones will love. Choose your perfect pumpkin from a selection of over 5,000 in the patch, then decorate it to make it sparkly or spooky—your choice. A full carnival of rides will be available for all ages to enjoy, and kids can explore the corn stalk maze to see if they can find their way out! Shows and activities will take place throughout the weekend, and when it comes time for lunch, head to the pumpkin food court to enjoy sweet and savory pumpkin treats and other fair food—and the beer bars for parents!

October 5 – 15, 2017

This year marks the 22nd annual Coral Gables Oktoberfest! This 11-day festival at Fretz & Franz Bierhaus will have you feeling like you’re in Germany. A huge variety of delicious beers will flow freely each day, and while you sip, you’ll get to enjoy live music and performances. There will also be a beer stein holding contest, bratwurst eating contest, and a yodeling contest. Enter the raffle to get a chance at winning some fantastic prizes, such as a 5-night stay at any Club Med in the United States or Caribbean! The event will run from noon to midnight each day. Don’t miss this little slice of German culture!

November 12 – 19, 2017

This 8-day literary party brings thousands of people to Miami each year. The fair includes readings and discussions with noted authors, as well as a variety of other events and activities. The Street Fair features the Festival of Authors, a collection of over 450 authors reading and discussing their work. Children’s Alley offers theater performances, arts and crafts, storytelling and reading by children’s book authors, and more! Comics and graphic novels get their own feature, and you’ll also get to see exhibitions of rare signed first edition antique books, original manuscripts, and other collectibles.
